My heater won't turn on. What should I check before calling?

Check your thermostat batteries and settings first. Make sure it's set to 'heat' and the temperature is set higher than your current room temp. Check your circuit breaker—if it's tripped, flip it back. If the pilot light is out on an older unit, that's your culprit. If none of that works, call us.

Is it dangerous if my heater smells like burning?

A brief burning smell when you first turn on your heater in fall is normal—that's dust burning off. If the smell persists, gets stronger, or smells like rotten eggs (gas), turn off the system immediately and call us. Don't wait on gas smells.

Should I repair or replace my old heater?

General rule: if the repair costs more than half of a new system and your heater is over 12-15 years old, replacement usually makes more sense. We'll lay out both options with real numbers so you can decide.
